Nicholas Grafia explains the importance of residencies for artists to explore new practices, meet new people and collaborate with other residents. Nicholas is an American-Filipino artist who took part in the 2021 edition of the Art Explora – Cité internationale des arts residency programme. His residency project allowed him to collect various testimonies and stories from communities largely ignored by Western society, in order to share their thoughts on various social issues.
