An art history deep dive on Frida Kahlo’s “The Two Fridas” (Las Dos Fridas) currently at The Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City.

This painting is one of only two large canvases ever painted by Kahlo and is a double self-portrait done at the time of her divorce from Diego Rivera. Frida Kahlo was an artist who put herself into her art; the artist and the muse. She was a feminist, a political activist and a painter who endured several physical emotional and psychological traumas in her lifetime yet through her pain, she suffered and created timeless and intimate works of art.
